It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our highly esteemed brother in Christ, Mr. James Anderson Lowe. James went home to be with the Lord on 18th February 2023 at 11:20pm surrounded by his family. Thankfully he could state with Paul:
For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
2 Timothy 4:6-8
He lived to be missed and was truly a unique Christian gentleman. All who knew him would have referred to him as “gentleman James”.
The Minister, Session, Committee, and whole congregation of the church express our deepest sympathy to the Lowe family circle and assure them of our constant prayers of comfort at this time.
We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
2 Corinthians 5:8
The funeral service will be on Wednesday 22nd February at 11:30am in Carryduff Free Presbyterian Church, afterwards to Knockbracken Reformed Presbyterian Graveyard. Family and friends welcome at his late home. No flowers please. Donations if desired, via RonnieThompson.co.uk or by cheques payable to Ronnie Thompson Donations Account for “Hope for Youth Ministries” and “Macmillan Cancer Support” c/o 20 Ballinderry Road, Lisburn, BT28 1UF.
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-14
