Outing to Tannaghmore Gardens

To mark the end of our Sunday School term and Children’s Meeting we finished with a summer fun day for the boys and girls at Tannaghmore Gardens, Lurgan. The date was set for Saturday the 18th June from noon to 5pm. Despite an initial setback with a 2nd bus, 28 children were ferried to Tannaghmore with great excitement. Other families and their children met us there.

Upon everyone’s arrival, and after a few initial outdoor games, our lunch break was held in the pavilion hall which we had booked in advance. Lunch consisted of sausages, chicken and ham sandwiches, pancakes, buns and tray bakes, washed down with tea, coffee and juice. It wasn’t long before everyone was ready for some more action in the adjoining grass pitch.

Various games were played with the children: Tug of war, dodgeball, badminton, football, rounders and other fun things were played and enjoyed by all. The group then proceeded to the adventure park with a zip line, slides, climbing frames, rope swings etc which was their favourite part of the day. The hedge maze called “Master McGrath ” seemed much too easy for these smart young ones. After this, the whole company visited the animals at the model farm. After returning to the pavilion and partaking of some light refreshments, Rev. McLaughlin said a short word and thanked the workers for organising the day and the children/adults who came. Everyone was invited to join us for our children’s day service on Sunday Morning. Rev. McLaughlin informed all present that he would be speaking about the fatted calf in Luke 15. Then it was time for the return journey home to Carryduff. Thanks be to the Lord for another fun-filled, safe, day trip together.
