Subject: Learning lessons from the slaughter at Bethshemesh
Bible Reference: 1 Samuel 6v19
And he smote the men of Beth-shemesh, because they had looked into the ark of the Lord, even he smote of the people fifty thousand and threescore and ten men: and the people lamented, because the Lord had smitten many of the people with a great slaughter.
As a boy he was saved from drowning by the gardener called Mr. Fleming.
As a man he was saved from death by the gardener’s son called Dr. Alexander Fleming, who discovered penicillin. He almost died from pneumonia.
He loved and respected the Jewish people.
His favourite passage of scripture was John 14:1-3 (He quoted it 5 times during famous speeches).
